I’m not in the best shape, but I want to prove to myself I can do something that seems insurmountable and inspire others by showing them no matter where they are in their fitness goals, they can do it, too.

I’ve been blessed because there are a lot of great singers out there that didn’t make it past their first album.

I never knew that the things I wanted to do would come this fast, but this is the route that God took me, and so I’m excited.

You can be confident and secure and know that you do a good job at what you do. But you don’t know to be arrogant about it.

I am comfortable with anything I sing: jazz, gospel, classical. It doesn’t matter. I can do it all.

So I’ve never in my whole life really been teased about my weight.

And to be able to do it, to be able to accomplish the goal you’ve always set for yourself is always a blessing.

I don’t like to be a preacher or anything, but the one thing that I’ve learned is that you truly are what you eat.

I like doing theaters. I like being up close and personal with the fans. It’s really cool.

I’ve never had any health problems and I’m Ruben, man, all the way through.
